This journal is intended to document our volunteer experience in Honduras, with Pure Water For The World. I think it will be better way for everyone who is interested in our time here to interact with not only Jennilou and I, but each other. I will try to post the journal on Sunday nights and continue to enhance the site as time goes on. The site will also allow everyone to check in on us as they choose. If anyone wants to learn more about the orginazation, or the people involved, there are links to additional websites below
Jeff,
It is great to here what you and Jennilou are doing. I definetly think the site will be a great way to interact with everyone. I hope you both have a wonderful experience while being there.
Shelly
Hi Jeff and Jennilou. Welcome to Honduras and Pure Water for the World. It is so great to have you join the family. I am a past VP of Pure Water and now am concentrating on our projects in Trujillo and Copan Ruinas. I have visited our projects many times over the last five years and will be bringing my fourth group of project supporters down for a tour beginning on Friday, February 23rd. We will spend the first three days in Trujillo and then plan to be in La Ceiba February 26, 27 and 28. We have a very full schedule, but I would enjoy meeting with you both and with Robert and Rasa when I’m there. We’ll see what works out.
Keep up the great work there and thanks for the blog. You are greatly valued and much appreciated.

Hi Jeff and Jennilou. Great job on the reports! It is interesting to read about the problems you have run into and how you have tackled them. I am in awe that you don’t become discouraged with all the obstacles to our goal that you have to deal with daily.
It was great to meet you at Carolyn’s. Give my best to Robert and Rasa, and make sure Robert’s keeping his braces clean!

Just read your update, Jeffrey. Whew! Sounds like you and Jennilou have been busy. I commend you for your tenacity and adventurousness. I smiled at your waking on the bus and having to get out your gps to see where you are. A little more scary there than on the side hill in Moretown, eh?
I was surprised when you talked of going to Wendy’s and Applebees. Sounds like American corporations have quite a hold there–what with the fruit companies and all. I guess I knew that, but being the insulated American I am, I don’t often let it sink in. It does make for quite a contrast, I’m sure. All the wealth of the American enclavesa and the poverty of the native people.
Thank you so much for letting me know about your blog. You are quite a writer, nephew. I appreciate the time and effort you put into it.
Love to you and Jennilou.

Hola primo!
WOW! is the first word that comes to mind after reading the blog entries and looking at the photos (and I’m not just talking about the sunset picture… ;-)!
Last Friday in school we had an assembly during which a photographer showed some pictures from his trip to Honduras with Doctors Without Borders. I felt like I was discovering the beautiful land you have set out to help. He mentioned that one of the doctors had stated the most important thing for Honduras was to obtain clean water. Needless to say my pride for you swelled inside me…
Thanks for the updates. Hugs and kisses to Jennilou y tu!
-Marcus
P.S. You’re already lined up to be a guest speaker in the Spanish classes. Just give me the best date for you…
;-)!
Hi Jeff. Sounds like you are very busy. The guy that handles our office insurance policies is headed to Honduras with his son and it has something to do with the Rotary. I’m not sure where exactly they will be going but it has something to do with water. It would be neat if they were headed to where you are. I am going to pass on your website and will tell him to look you up if he’s in the same area. His name is Tim Cope and he’s a very nice guy.
Your journal is great and looks like you spend quite a bit of time on it. Keep up the good work!
Love, Anne
Hi, Jeff, we are so proud of you. What an interesting and exciting experience you are having. I love to read your reports and see all the pictures. Stay safe.
Love, A.Gladys & U.Al
Dear Jeff,
Wow, I am amazed at all the opportunities you are having and so…so….so proud of you and Jennilou. Robert and Rasa seem great, too and with a sense of humor.
Keep taking pictures. You can turn them into a powerpoint when you get home and use my projector to show everyone. We’ll have a donation party to send more money to Honduras. Can’t wait to see you in March.
Love, Mom
Good Morning Jeff -
Your journal entries are enthralling, and exuberant to say the least. Seeing you on the bow of a boat, drifting down a mud washed river bringing aid to those in need, fills my heart with reverence. Take a hold of what the world has to offer and find this experience an enriching one. For what it is worth, I am very proud of you Jeffrey.
With Love,
Cousin Amy ; )
Hey Jeff,
It was good to meet you in Guatemala. I hope things are going well for you. Good luck with all your hard work.

Hey Jeff,
Missed you on our snorkeling trip to Hol Chan today. The sail boat ride made for quite a nice trip, but there were not nearly as many stingrays to cuddle with.
We await the amazing blog entries from Caye Caulker and San Pedro describing all the great friends you met and all the authentic Belizean meals you had!
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Nos vemos,
Debbie and Sonia
Hey buddy.
It was real good meeting you and chatting (while we were able) on the trek up and down the San Pedro volcano. Were your legs as cashed as mine for the next couple days? Sorry we couldn’t connect again later in the week. I’d love to hear about what else you did.
Your site and work are amazing. I’ll keep checking in on how things are going.
Regards and respect for the great work. Take good care.
